Jackson Lake Panoramic

This was my first every trip into the Tetons area and so my first time seeing the dam and Jackson Lake. I was definitely not expecting this view. It was my job to drive one of the cars for the group I was with and I had four or five people riding with me. My passenger had driven here the day before and was telling me to be prepared for it. I wasn't listening, though.

I had spent the previous day sick with altitude sickness. I'd experienced this before but not as bad as this trip. I missed my first sunrise in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming - where I'd been wanting to go to for five years - and I missed my first sunset in Grand Teton National Park at the most famous part of the park. I was pretty devastated (especially after they told me about the moose that walked right through the group).

Rounding that corner in the van, seeing the dam, and looking to my left was absolutely breathtaking. I was speechless for a moment before I started freaking out. Our group doesn't like to stop and when we do, they don't like to stop for long. I grabbed the radio and shouted, "WE NEED TO STOP!"

We stopped, I hopped out and grabbed what I could and took off for the walkway on the dam. I took several panoramas and will likely add some of them to this collection but this one was one of the few with clouds. I was thrilled beyond belief and I hope you're as excited as I am about it.

Available as a framed print, a gallery wrap canvas, or a metal print.
