Resting Wolf in the Style of Colored Pencils
NOTE: Watermarks do not print on the image. It is for online safeguarding only.
This was a wolf at the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone, Montana. I photographed her in September of 2021 on my first trip to Montana, Wyoming, and the beautiful little town of West Yellowstone.
She had been walking around the Hoodoo Pack pens the entire time I was there with the group of photographers I was with and was just chilling out on the boulders as we were all packing up. I photographed her just as she was here and that was that. A throwaway image, to be sure but since I don't throw anything away ever....
Fast-forward to 2025 and my abilities as a digital artist have improved drastically. I can now go back to all of my old photographs that never came to anything and create something beautiful. I developed my own digital art brushes using real brushes and pencils on bristol, watercolor, and canvas. I made this using my colored pencil Photoshop brushes.
All of the elements used, from the skies to the trees, were photographed by me. Maybe not all at the same time but they were still mine. This is why I throw nothing away - everything has a purpose.
I love how this style prints on the fine art papers, so this is available as a fine art Torchon paper print in a float frame, gallery wrap canvas, and a huge metal print.
