Bridger, again, with the awesome pose. This was my first attempt ever at digitally painting a wolf and my first time ever digitally hand-painting individual strands of hair on any living subject. I can easily do it now but, back then, it was extremely difficult for me to get the hairs right.
I spent days on this one, from creating a background to making the strokes so that it didn't make him too shaggy. I even brought in some color to his otherwise monotoned white/beige coloring.
I chose this image because he looked so stoic. This is when I truly fell in love with the idea of digital artwork and discovering techniques. Bridger is at the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone, Montana, and part of the Hoodoo Pack on display there.
Available as Framed, Float Framed Fine Art Torchon and Wood Prints.
