The Lower Falls - Artist Point - Canvas & Acrylic

It's one of the most iconic views of Yellowstone, the river, and represents the National Park on t-shirts and coffee mugs and so many other things. It's everywhere. I'd be a fool not to try my hand at photographing it. What luck, I was there at a perfect time. The sun was hitting it just right to capture the rainbow colors in the mist.

This was my second trip to Yellowstone and this time I was better prepared for landscapes, having a polarizing filter to capture certain scenes like this. I think I like it better in the fall but that's when the crowds are way too much to handle at the Artist Point location. Yet I'm so happy with this that I printed it with the Acrylic option and hung it up in my studio. I think that's definitely the way to go, here.

I can literally hear the falls every time I see this. Yes, I can also hear the people and the buses pulling up in the parking lot but I do my best to drown that noise out and just smell the air and listen.
