Something as simple as a closeup headshot of a bald eagle captivated judges from across the country in every print competition that I entered this print into. Interpretations from politics to freedom and the meaning behind the title "Spirit."

Part of art is to interpret what you see, each to his own and on his own. I leave that to you.

I photographed this eagle at West Yellowstone, Montana, using a borrowed Canon camera and Sigma lens. I'm usually Nikon but was on a Canon kick for that week.

This is hanging in my own home, a constant reminder of being watched and judged by people. I'll throw this into interpretation, although it's not 100% the reason. People often say that we shouldn't judge others. This is both true and false. I will judge you based on your behavior and what my observations perceive. So will you. So will everyone that has ever lived. The idea of constantly being watched and judged as a known artist in my community and internationally among this industry has a price. You can't have opinions that you share with others, in person or online, and you can't misstep or misspeak, because anything you say can and will be used against you at some point by people higher up.

For me, Spirit encompasses more than a piece of digital art. And you can interpret that however you see fit.
