This giraffe was at the Mann Wildlife Museum and Zoo in Montgomery, Alabama. I'm not used to giraffes - my wildlife tends to be more American-based so venturing into the African exhibit isn't something I spend a whole lot of time on. But I have some family that loves giraffes for some reason, so I was thinking of them when I saw this animal watching me as I was walking by the giraffe encounter area.
It gave me the look and I knew that this would be the one that I could make for them.
I photographed it and created some digital artwork using my own Photoshop brush set. I knew when I was making it that it would be best suited for the Torchon fine art paper and texture. The colors print so vibrantly on it that it's definitely the way to go here. I also have this available on canvas in a couple of different sizes that absolutely work with it.
A lot of times, print surface has a huge impact on the final product. It's not just about the type of surface but the actual display of the surface with the image. In this case, these surfaces go hand-in-hand with the image.
