I have mentioned before that Bridger, one of the wolves at the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone, Montana, is my go-to animal when I need some art therapy. This one I made using my Photoshop brushes I made off of charcoal and graphite. REAL charcoal and graphite.
In this scene, he was standing up and stretching while looking at Obsidian. While it was just a stretch, I saw something more that I could turn it into. It was like a gaze into heaven or looking up at hope. I loved that idea. Lots of darkness behind him and light spilling to illuminate his face and eyes. Something about that idea pulled me in and I ran with it.
